What To Expect
The Construction Manager is responsible for ensuring that larger battery storage “turnkey” projects provided by Tesla Energy are built and commissioned to a high degree of quality and in an efficient, safe and cost-effective manner. The Construction Manager is a site based role, responsible for co-ordinating multiple contractors in order to ensure the site interfaces are managed appropriately and that all construction works are delivered in accordance with the approved designs. The Construction Manager plays a key role in the commissioning and handover phases of the project, ensuring that changes agreed during the installation are captured in as built design documentation and that commissioning and testing records are complete.
Experience of delivering and managing commercial / industrial electrical installations is required to perform this role. As well as possessing solid electrical engineering knowledge and the ability to determine the quality of a contractor’s work, this role also requires a strong understanding Health and Safety management. What You'll Do Ensure the coordination of and communication between all contractors and relevant parties.Monitor site progress, resolve issues, and report to project manager.Manage sub-contractors and direct workforce.Ensure high standard of quality on the works to ensure compliance with project specifications and requirements.Assist engineering team with working method and outputs for production of method statements and programmeEnsure all records for example inspections, works permits and briefings are up to date and in place.Oversight and enforcement of HSE policies, conducting safety audits, risk assessments and implement recommended courses of action as identified from progress monitoring and management inspections.Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes / variations, subcontractor’s attendance, and records of work-related discussions with client / designer / project team
What You'll Bring Previous experience within utility sector in the UK, including TSO connected sites.Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and construction methodologies.Familiarity with CDM Regulations, HSE laws, regulations, and best practices in construction.VCA CertificationFirst Aid qualified HND/Degree in engineering/project management related qualificationTraining in Health & Safety and Environmental managementExperience with working in SPT substation.HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH, or equivalent).Experience with 400kV connected projects.Knowledge of civil engineering principlesKnowledge of Battery Energy Storage SystemsMust be Authorized to work in the UK
